Teaching people about the realities of muti-generational trauma, and it's affects on how we live our lives. Supporting humanist development and education that is based in reality. Teaching loving kindness, compassion and the value of accountability in the school system, and all systems. Looking at and addressing the oppression and hurt that the capitalist system has created and the ramifications of that system (violence, ecocide, rape, disregard for all life). Having REAL people from all walks of life work with your leaders to create change. For any system to work honestly it must be inclusive, rather then talk about love or change, these elements must be actually modeled in an incremental way. Woman as leaders, people of color as leaders, persons living in poverty as leaders. To address violence, who better to ask for a vision then people who have been violated and who have "healed" from this and gone to lead in their own lives from a place of tenderness and awareness. Being raised in a violent poor family, as the eldest daughter, going on to be a single mother, finding my way through the miasma of difficulties and oppression that North America inflicts on anyone who is not white, and wealthy (and generally male), takes strength, leadership and courage. It takes HEART. Talk to us, the people this system has hurt and oppressed, the us, who still have faith in the innate wonder of life. Who still taste beauty and practice giving. It is people who will lead in a just world, people who will lead with their hearts aflame, because they have suffered and still believe that this world is a blessing and each life worth cherishing. Change, you are the change we are looking to, it is fundamental that this time in history fosters change from a grass roots level that is HONEST!
